JAG AllStars: Join the Cycle of Change
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

2009 will witness a collection of South Africa’s most celebrated sporting and entertainment personalities, dubbed the JAG AllStars, donning their cycling helmets for the Absa Cape Epic, all in the name of JAG. Amongst the AllStars will be former rugby professionals, Breyton Paulse and Marius Hurter, ex-soccer star Mark Fish, former Blue Bulls coach, Mike Bayly, 5FM DJ and Supercycling presenter, Owen Hannie and cycling legends, Willie Engelbrecht, Erica Green and Linus van Onselen.

Undergoing months of strenuous training, these personalities have one common goal to raise funds for JAG through the support of the public. Fans are encouraged to support their AllStar of choice by donating towards this worthy cause. All funds raised will go towards the JAG Mighty Metres programme, giving underprivileged primary school kids the opportunity to develop their sporting prowess.

The Mighty Metres programme encourages learners of all fitness levels to run from one to six marathons over the period of a year by doing at least one kilometre, three to five times a week. The students earn small incentives as they progress, including a medal for every marathon they complete, and are encouraged to use this sporting programme as a basis for their development within all other areas of their lives.
