Armstrong to ride with invitational group
Armstrong to ride with invitational group in this year’s Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour.
Following the announcement of Lance Armstrong’s participation in this year’s Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, Armstrong’s management has indicated that he be will joining invitational group, alongside South Africa’s pro-riders.Together with his team mate, Darryl Impey, he will be representing their American sponsor, Team RadioShack. Collaborating with leading sports and education charity, the JAG Foundation, Armstrong will be in Cape Town from 9–11 March to promote the ‘Discovery Lance for Life Tour 2010’. His Cape Town itinerary includes a visit to a local school, cycling with South Africa’s top business personalities, as well as an exclusive banquet dinner and breakfast. “Lance’s participation in the invitational group gives numerous young pro-riders the opportunity to experience riding alongside one of the biggest cycling legends of our time,” comments Local Head Organiser and Managing Director of Cycle Lab, Gary Marescia. The remainder of Armstrong’s visit, from 13 – 14 March, will be dedicated towards training and preparation ahead of this year’s Tour de France.
