More details on Lance's visit to SA in support of the JAG Foundation
Following the announcement of Lance Armstrong’s much anticipated first visit to South Africa in March 2010, local organisers have just revealed further details to his itinerary.

The seven-time Tour De France champion will be in the country to raise funds for leading South African charity, the JAG Foundation as well as promote his passion for healthy living.

“With the aim of inspiring South Africa through sports, Lance and the JAG Foundation are extending an invitation to the public to attend the ‘Lance for Life’ events from 9 – 11 March. Also with the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour and the Absa Cape Epic around the corner, Lance’s arrival promises to engage and motivate local sports fans and the cycling community alike,” comments Local Head Organiser and Managing Director of Cycle Lab, Gary Marescia.

Day One

Spearheaded by JAG CEO, Elana Meyer, Lance Armstrong and top local sporting celebrities will embark on a visit to a local school on 9 March 2010. In addition to interacting with kids from the JAG community, Team Armstrong will also be demonstrating principles of healthy living.

Joined by renowned international cycling commentator Phil Liggett and local sports commentator Dan Nicholl, Lance will address a 400-strong crowd on the evening of the 9th at an exclusive banquet.

Day Two

For South Africa’s cycling enthusiasts, Lance will be embarking on a 100 km ride on 10 March 2010. A designated route exploring the scenic Cape has been confirmed and riders will then be invited to attend an elite team dinner with Lance.

Day Three

On 11 March 2010 Lance will be addressing a 700-strong crowd at a group breakfast, where he’ll provide inspiring insights into his sporting career to date as well as the Livestrong brand.
